Ride your bike and you’ll discover completely new places – and feel the vibe of the city – in a different way than you’d have felt when walking or taking public transport. Cycling in Lima is not very easy because of the hilly terrain, but because the sun doesn’t shine very often in Lima, the temperature is great for an active tour.
I booked a cycling tour with a guide in Lima myself in July 2008. I recommend a guided trip, because a guide knows the city’s best spots to visit and can tell you fun facts about places you’d otherwise never know. And a guide knows where to go, so you don’t get lost in places where you rather don’t want to be lost.
Apparently the tour operator in Lima where I booked my tour doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Fortunately, TripAdvisor lists many other tour operators where you can book a great cycling tour in Lima.
