When you have a stop-over in Atlanta (e.g. when you’re travelling from Europe to South-America, like me going to Chile) it’s very easy to leave the airport for a couple of hours to go shopping in one of the many shopping malls!
You can leave your luggage in a locker at the airport, so you have your hands free to shop. You can take a train (MARTA) downtown and to the shopping malls. It’s a 15 minute ride. I bought a beautiful prom dress in Atlanta during my stop-over.
Don’t worry if you want to stay at the airport; there are many shops at the airport itself!
